Electronic point of sale over the Internet becomes a
reality with Emperum Web EPOS from E-NOVATIONS
E-NOVATIONS, a leading UK retail systems and ecommerce
specialist, has launched the first secure electronic point
of sale (EPOS) system available over the Internet. The service,
available for a monthly rental fee, will enable retailers
to offer advanced sales processing and store management
quickly and inexpensively.
E-NOVATIONS CEO, Manoj Jethwa, said, "This is the
quickest and cheapest way for a small, medium or indeed
a larger retailer to get trading. The service is ideal for
retailers of any size who want to open new stores, offer
mobile point of sale when the store is busy or trade at
temporary locations, such as trade fairs, markets, or public
transport."
Emperium Web EPOS is a Microsoft-based product developed
on a .NET framework. For small retailers, the service provides
all the functionality that they will ever need, including
elements that are normally only available to much larger
retailers, such as multi pricing, Mix and Match promotion
management and realtime data store processes, stock movement
through to comprehensive management reporting.
The retailer requires no software on their own PC. They
simply log onto Emperium Web EPOS and process transactions
as normal. Emperium Web EPOS is fully compatible with the
retailer's bar code scanner, cash drawer, Chip & PIN
and/or loyalty terminal.
Security concerns about sharing trading data over the Internet
are dispelled by E-NOVATIONS unique, secure data model which
will transfer data through an existing internet connection,
or store data on local machines until a connection is restored.
Jethwa added, "I don't say that one day all epos transactions
will be handled in this way, but I think this option will
open up the market for advanced epos to a much wider community
of retailers and range of sales transactions."
